The books I use to teach students how to play piano are from the Alfred's series. Beginners use book level 1A. Students who play on a little more advanced level will start with level 1B or level 2. Even more advanced students will start with playing out of repertoire books by James Bastien. This will be determined on an individual basis by myself, in your presence.
All students will be required to study music theory also. Again, these books are from the Alfred series for the beginners and work up to the Bastien books.
